Howard also wants to congratulate new dealer, Ross Hinshaw, for his Icebreaker. He placed a Model 46 at a Mexican Restaurant. The owner really wanted two Tri-color EMC’s but due to credit did not qualify. However, Ross, thinking on his feet, told the business owner that if he got the Mode 46 now, which would help his restaurant tremendously, he would come back after the first of the year to order the tricolor EMC’s for him. The customer made Ross promise to return in January and only if he made the promise, would he purchase the Model 46 now. A handshake sealed the deal and a beautiful Model 46 is on the way.

From an e-mail Harold recently sent to his Signtronix Dealers as a review and reminder of what we are doing.  There is a lot here so please find time to digest all these nuggets that you can take to the bank.  Thanks Harold!

These are Tool Tips I have assembled that helped me when I first started with Signtronix back in 2007. I hope you find them useful.

• No one is going to knock on your door and ask to see your sample.
• Be true to yourself and brutally honest. If you need help, call. If you are sideways in your attitude, call. If you are not getting a sale every 3 days, call. Heck, call everyday. I like hearing from you.
• If it is to be, it is up to me.
• Open your store everyday.
• Five lite-ups a day.
• Road trips out of town are where I have always found success. At home you will work twice as hard and make half as much.
• Look in the mirror before each call and remind yourself you are going in to help these people.
• Care more about their business than you care about putting money in your pocket.
• If you help people get what they want, you will get what you want.
• No pressure, no stress. Just focus on the daily activity of doing lite-ups. This is the path to the bank.
• Door-to-door, store-to-store, floor-to-floor until there ain’t no more…This is so important. You do not have a crystal ball. Go in the door and do step one. The roads ofAmericaare littered with the carcasses of cherry pickin’ Charlies. Yeah, they make a deal every now and then but they short themselves and their families in the end, and they don’t last.
• Make a list on your 24 call sheet. Then work your list. There is “magic” in the list.
• We all have an uncle we can summon for help. But, first you must have the desire to be successful. His name is Uncle Percy. It stands for perseverance. We know we will have good days and bad days, good weeks and bad weeks. Calvin Coolidge once said, “Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of perseverance. Talent will not.  Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not. Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not. The world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and Determination alone are omnipotent.”
• Success will happen when preparation and opportunity meet.
• If you are not getting what you want from your business, look in the mirror.
• Everyone wants to go to the bank but not everyone does what it takes to get there.
• Every month you are working, you will have a week that is great. A week that is not so great and two weeks of average. This has been my experience and it just seems to be the way.
• Always call on any business with our sign.
• Every door you walk into has a value. In my case, it is about $75. Every owner you talk to has a value, about $150. Every lite-up you do has a value, about $375. Every sale you do has an average value. Currently, it is around $5,000.
• Pray for guidance to be led to those that need help with their business.
• Help those you can, move on with those you can’t.
• Some do, some don’t. So what! Next.
• You will never lose what you never had in the first place.
• Always ask for referrals. 75% of your sales will come from a referral you generated.
• Everyone wants to go to heaven. Nobody wants to die to get there. Go figure.
