JOANNE BOREN
When Charles W. Eliot said, “Books are the most constant of friends; they are the wisest of counselors and the most patient of teachers,” he was surely thinking about the book entitled, JoAnne Boren.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as the daughter of a teacher and a librarian, JoAnne was sure to gain a love for literature. She is never without a book and said, “I could not exist without something to read.” Her enthusiasm is shared by her husband, Vernie, and together their collection of books line the walls of their home.
JoAnne and Vernie will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary on December 26, 2008! What a whirlwind it has been. They met in college in Oklahoma. As soon as Vernie graduated, they loaded up their car and headed to California to begin their life with Gulf/Signtronix. When Vernie was working in the home office in California, they frequently entertained Dealers and Managers in their home. There were some weeks that Vernie would say goodbye to a group at the airport and bring another group home with him!
Although Signtronix kept them busy, JoAnne and Vernie found time to start a family of their own. They have three amazing children! Jacqueline was a Paralegal and is now married to her husband, Jim, and enjoys being a stay-at-home mom of two darling girls, Cheyenne, 8, and Sierra, 5, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Stephanie lives in Norco, California and has three children, Lauren, 18, Barrett, 13, and Morgan Claire, 2. Brandon lives in Orange County, California and works for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. His beautiful wife, Oakley, is from Thailand.
JoAnne’s favorite thing to do, beside read, is spend time with her grandchildren! She is also a talented gardener and a phenomenal cook. More of her passions are ‘museum hopping’ and traveling. “I would love to travel the whole world! My goals are to go to England, see the art and architecture of Florence, Italy and travel to the Amazon to see Machu Pichu.”
JoAnne is currently pursuing her love for art through a degree in Art History from University of New Mexico! She has already earned her Associates of Arts degree in Interior Design and is a Certified Floral Designer. There is nothing she can’t accomplish!
