What is the Manpower Program?
Manpower is and always has been the lifeblood of Signtronix. It’s the size of a Region in number of Dealers that largely dictates the success of a region based on volume and contracts obtained. In order to grow, a region MUST be built and nourished. The first priority in growing a region is to hire and train Dealers and grow the size of the region.
We are implementing new hiring tools and a new hiring process for 2007. Really, it’s a new hiring mentality. This is to help with the number of applications and resumes coming to each region. It also helps keep Regional Managers focused on hiring, hiring, hiring.
What’s new in the 2007 hiring process? We are placing more emphasis on the online career search process. That’s where more people are currently going to look for a job. Instead of solely placing ‘want ads’ in newspapers, we are posting the Dealer job on career sites like Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com. We want maximum exposure so more and more people can learn about the Signtronix opportunity. However, we’re not totally eliminating newspaper ads. We will use them to point career searchers to the Signtronix Careers website. Have you seen the career website? Have you told someone about it?
Check it out at www.signtronixcareers.com!
Remember, with the Manpower program and all the resumes we could ever want, personal recruiting is still an enormously effective way to grow our company and share the amazing Signtronix opportunity with those around you.
A True Believer in Manpower
A true believer in Manpower, RM Paul Shawley is quickly finding qualified candidates through the internet sources. Paul is on his third training without relying solely on newspaper ads. “They are the sharpest guys I have seen in decades!” said Paul. Getting the sharp ones to come in is more work Paul explains, “I work resumes everyday and follow up with them at least four times.” If he gets seven resumes in, he calls seven resumes. “It’s more work, a lot more.” However, more work in the beginning can mean less work after hiring. Paul’s recent hires have previously owned businesses and have knowledge of sales; therefore, they need far less training. “I have had to completely change my whole schedule, my whole way of thinking,” said Paul. In an effort to keep in touch with possible candidates, Paul will send them Speech of the Streets, News & Views and call them with news from around the country. The candidates that are qualified and experienced have other options. We have to make Signtronix their best option! After 30 years of recruiting the same way, Paul is embracing this “breath of fresh air”. “It’s truly amazing!” When asked what he would tell other Managers about the Manpower program, there was a quiet giggle and you could hear the great Paul Shawley’s smile shine when he sarcastically said, “It doesn’t work, you shouldn’t use it!” Go ahead and try to keep up with the Carolina Panther’s unstoppable Manpower!
Manpower Reaches around the Country
New Dealer to the Arkansas Diamonds’ team, Sonny Holderbaugh is a prime example of what the Manpower program can do. He sold 7 contracts his first 2 weeks out in the field and then broadened his horizon by helping out a tanning salon with a Model 38 and an 8ft EMC. “Sonny came from Monster.com. He is the blessing we needed in our Region at the right time,” said RM Howard Foy. “Sonny shows what can be done when people get committed to learning the business,” said Tom Johnson, President.
Among the “Hurricanes”, DM Mike Carter’s South Florida Region is fully behind the Manpower program. “With the applications from the internet we have had the best hiring in months!” said DM Dave Rich. The response from the Internet has DOUBLED their Newspaper call-in response!
