Concerns – Signtronix part three

Concern #1You can take steps to ensure they are thinking the former rather than the latter, but you must begin by asking yourself the right questions:

A) Are there more than just words on your sign? Many signs have nothing but words, words, words, which unfortunately only attracts 10% of the passing public.  Not a good formula for churches looking to grow theircongregation.

B) Is there a pictorial graphic to grab the attention of your passing public?By adding a picture or graphic to your sign, studies have shown that 80% of the passing public will not only notice your sign but remember what they saw.  Do you remember the Coppertone billboard ad?  What was on that billboard?  A picture with a little girl and a dog tugging on her trunks revealing her tan line.  What did the billboard say?  Exactly.  No one remembers what it said.  The power of images are lasting.  We already have a sign, why do we need a new one?

The image your signtronix sign projects to the public in your community is critically important!  What do people think about the present image your church and surrounding environment project?  Is it inviting?  Your sign is really your handshake with the passing public.  It has to be warm and appealing.  It’s the very first impression people have of you and your church.  They say that first impressions are lasting, right?  Remember, potential members are driving by your church right now and making judgments about your church based on what they see.  Are they saying to themselves, “Wow, every time I pass by that Signtronix sign I love reading the messages they have up, I think I’ll come see them this weekend and see what they’re all about” or do they barely notice you?
